I recently got stopped for doing 82 in a 55 in Ohio, what kind of fine would I receive for this and can I expect any other penalties?

Fine amounts may differ depending upon the Ohio county or jurisdiction you received your speeding ticket in. To find out your exact fine amount and to see if any other penalties will be placed on you for a speeding ticket for 27 mph over the posted speed limit call the court listed on your citation.

As you probably are aware any Ohio driver convicted of a traffic violation is assessed a specific number of penalty points according to the type of offense. Your speeding ticket for going 27 mph over the speed limit should result in 2 points going on your OH driver's license.

If you already have other violations and points on your Ohio driving record then you may have other penalties. The OH DMV state that a driver accumulating six points will receive a letter from the Registrar of Motor Vehicles indicating what penalties may be assigned should 12 or more points be accumulated within a two-year period. One such penalty is the suspension of driving privileges for six months.

Depending upon where you received the ticket you may be able to go online to the court's website and pay the fine online. Again check with the clerk of the court to find out if this is possible.
