We had some electrical wires that were burned up with we were trying to put in a new stereo and it caused an electrical fire. Now we have to replace the wiring and it costs $9,000. Can this be claimed on insurance?

If you have comprehensive coverage you can discuss the details of the electrical fire to see if it would be covered under the terms of your policy.

It may be found that the fire was due to neglect on your part while dealing with the electrical wires or a mechanical issue that will not be covered by your policy when it is investigated but you will not know for certain if the claim will be accepted until checking with your insurance claims adjuster.

This article on the Simple Steps to Filing Your Car Insurance Claim may be of use to you at this time as you contact your agent to find out about making the claim.
