We are currently unaware of any auto insurance companies offering discounts for drivers who have a navigation system installed in their vehicle. Nor are we aware of discounts that will be available in the near future for this having satellite navigation in your vehicle.

Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) that are placed in the vehicle and are able to locate, monitor, and track vehicles as a security measure against theft or to recover a stolen vehicle may allow you a discount with some auto insurers.

We do not know of any company that has discounts for having a GPS system only used to give the driver directions. This type of device can be helpful for the driver and can allow them to concentrate on the roadways as the unit gives them directions to their location. However there is a downside in that some drivers may try to operate the navigation equipment (type in an address, etc) while driving which instead of helping the driver focus on the road has them distracted looking at the device.
