I have a CDL. I got a ticket for doing 66 in a 45 in my personal vehicle and it has been on my license for 2 in a half years. Will it come off in 3 years, or does it stay on my driving record forever? I live in Phoenix, Arizona and how can I get it taken off?

According to the Arizona Driver's Manual states each time you are convicted or forfeit bail for a moving traffic violation, points are assessed against your permanent driving record.

If you accumulate 8 or more points in any 12-month period, you may be required to attend Traffic Survival School (TSS), or your driving privilege may be suspended up to 12 months.

The Arizona Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) notes that a violation is taken off your driving record (for a normal passenger car driver's license) five years from the date of conviction. They do not state when points come off though they do say that any convictions received and showing on your driving record within the past 39 months will be provided to an insurance company.

Since neither the AZ driver's manual nor the MVD site state how long points stay on your driving record (regular or commercial driver's license) you will need to contact the AZ DOT directly to find out how long points for your previous speeding offense will remain on your record and if it will differ for you since you have a CDL.
