Car Insurance Question  A 17 year old boy graduates school a year early, will that make his car insurance go lower?

No, graduating a year early from high school is not normally something an insurance company would factor in to lower insurance rates for this 17 year old. Being able to graduate a year early does not make up for the high risks related to being a young, inexperience driver.

If he were 18 and the only driver on the policy, some companies use highest education level to determine rates. There are very few companies that use this as a rating classification.

If the teenager was able to graduate due to good grades and excelling at school then he or she should check with their insurance company to see if they are receiving a discount for being a good student.

Many insurance companies recognize and reward good students with an extra discount. Usually, this discount is offered to single drivers under 25 years of age. This discount applies to Bodily Injury and Property Damage Liability, medical payments, and comprehensive and collision coverages providing that each such youthful driver meets certain requirements.

If you are eligible for this discount but do not currently receive a lowered premium for it then speak with your agent to see what steps you would need to take to get it in place. You likely will need to provide the agent with documentation of your grades.
