Michigan Vehicle Code 257.904a is titled Operation of motor vehicle by unlicensed person as misdemeanor; penalty; second offense.
Here it notes that any person, not exempt from license under this act, who shall operate a motor vehicle upon the highways of this state and who is unable to show that he or she has been issued a license to operate a motor vehicle by any state or foreign country valid within the 3 years preceding is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or by a fine of not less than $50.00 nor more than $100.00, or both. Any person convicted of a second offense under this section shall be punished by imprisonment for not less than 2 nor more than 90 days, or by a fine of $100.00, or both.
A different section of Michigan law, Michigan Vehicle Code 257.325, states that it shall be unlawful for any person to cause or knowingly permit any minor to drive a motor vehicle upon a highway as an operator, unless the minor has first obtained a license to drive a motor vehicle under the provisions of this chapter. So the person that allowed you as a minor to drive without a license may also be cited since it is against the law for he or she to allow you to operate the vehicle knowing that you are unlicensed.
If you were ticketed for driving without a license you can contact the Michigan court listed on the citation to find out more about the laws that pertain to your situation and what penalties and punishments you may face in court.
