Ohio and Maryland are both members of the Drivers License Compact which means the Ohio courts will inform the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration of your OH speeding ticket conviction.
The Maryland driver's manual currently states that once the MVA receives ticket information from another state they treat it as if the violation occurred in state. If that is the case, even if the offense is not one that they assign points to, it will be placed on your Maryland driving record.
A speeding citation for 4 over the limit in Ohio will thus be seen by your insurance company the next time they pull your motor vehicle record (MVR).It will depend upon your insurance company's rating system if this minor speeding violation will affect your rates or not. You can check with your agent about your carrier's rating system or you can see if the MD Insurance Administration can tell you about your provider's system since their rates must be filed with this state agency.
