Yes, in Georgia if you take a Driver Improvement Course you can get points removed from your driving record. Once every 5 years you can take this course in GA.
You may not take a Georgia Defensive Driving course / traffic school for insurance reduction and point reduction or for more than one violation. So you will need to decide which reason you want to take the class for make sure that the course will give you the insurance reduction or points reduction you want since you cannot take it for both reasons.
The GA Department of Driver Services (DDS) does not allow driver to take traffic school classes over the Internet or on a computer. The DDS only allows classroom instruction for its approved driving school. The DDS should be able to answer other questions you have about this type of class or if there are other ways for reducing the points on your license.
