Ohio and North Carolina are both members of the Drivers License Compact (DLC) so if you plead guilty (by paying the fine) and thus are convicted of the offense of following too closely then the NC courts will advise the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) of this out of state violation conviction.
A representative of the BMV stated to us as we mentioned above that yes indeed the Bureau of Motor Vehicles does receive citations for out of state tickets. She also stated that out of state tickets do go on your Ohio driving record; however, Ohio does not assess points for out of state citations.
So though this traffic offense will be recorded on your Ohio driving record, it will not be assigned points on your OH license.
