How long is a DWI on a New Mexico driving record?

In New Mexico a conviction for a DWI will remain on your NM driving record for 25 years.

New Mexico has some of the strictest penalties for driving under the influence in the whole country. These penalties can include going to jail, paying fines up to $5,000, paying court costs and fees, mandatory community service, having your license revoked for a year. There are license reinstatement fees of $100 you must pay to get your license back after the revocation for the DWI is over.

The state might also order you to go through treatment and install an ignition interlock device on your vehicle once you are able to drive again.

For more information regarding the penalties for being convicted of driving under the influence in New Mexico, check with the Motor Vehicle Division of the NM Taxation and Revenue Department.
