Not all auto insurance providers write non-owners policies or perhaps some insurance carriers' online systems are not set up for non owners policy quotes. Most insurance companies request information on a vehicle on their website so you will need to call for a non-owners quote.
At CarInsurance.com we are not able to offer non-owners insurance in every state online but if we can offer this type of policy in your state then on the vehicle screen it will have the option of choosing "Check this box if you do not own a vehicle and would like to purchase a non-owners policy." Currently, Florida is the only state this available. We plan to add this functionality to 22 states in early 2008. Our sales center may be able to assist you in these states, please call 1-800-964-4849.
Non-owners is a type of liability insurance, it only covers the named insured while driving vehicles. In most states a non-owner policy contains Bodily Injury Liability and Property Damage Liability. Depending on the type of coverage you choose for your policy, the policy will cover you up to the limits you choose.
