Car Insurance Question  If I hit a cement barrier (this parking lot had stop sign on top of a little cement wall in a parking lot) and it dented my passenger side door and there is paint all down the side to the back tire would that be considered collision or comprehensive?

This would be considered to be a collision claim since you hit an object, that object being the cement barrier.

Collision covers damage to your car when your car hits, or is hit by, another vehicle, or other object. Other than Collision or Comprehensive covers your vehicle, and sometimes other vehicles you may be driving for losses resulting from incidents other than collision. For example, comprehensive insurance covers damage to your car if it is stolen; or damaged by flood, fire, or animals.

You can speak to your insurance agent about how to place a claim for the damage you vehicle sustained in the parking lot.
