We are not aware of an agreement between Quebec and the state of Vermont. We found in the Quebec Highway Safety Code Regulations that this Canadian province has reciprocal agreements with the some States such as New York and Florida regarding traffic violations but Vermont was not listed.
In January 2008 we contacted the Vermont DMV Commissioner's office whose representative responded that no, VT does not currently have any type of reciprocal agreement with the Canadian province of Quebec for moving violations such as speeding tickets.
Laws do change and new agreements are made though so after January 2008 we would advise you and anyone else that gets a ticket in Quebec or Vermont to contact the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and/or the Quebec Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) to see if any new reciprocal agreements have been made that would allow these two areas to share moving violation ticketing information.
New compacts and agreements are made all the time that allow various areas to share information with each other and thus if a traffic ticket received in one area would be placed on the driving record of a driver licensed in the other area so to find out about the most recent laws and compacts always check with your local Department of Motor Vehicles or like state / province agency.
