Will my insurance rates go up if I'm caught ridin' dirty?

We assume you mean you were driving in a moving vehicle while you had something illegal in the car or if you are driving while you have illegal firearms in your vehicle. Ridin' Dirty is also an album from the rap group UGK. Ridin' is also the second single from Chamillionaire's album.

Simply ridin' dirty will not cause your rates to go up. Getting caught ridin' dirty could cause your insurance rates to increase. If you are caught with illegal substances in your car, depending on the state you live in, you can expect to be charged with a felony while driving a moving vehicle.

In Texas for example, points are charged in these situations:

  • Consumer Alcohol While Driving
  • Driving Under Influence
  • Driving Under Influence As A Minor
  • Driving While Impaired
  • Driving While Intoxicated - 0.16
  • Driving While Intoxicated with child younger than 15 years of age
  • Driving While Intoxicated - Felony Charge
  • Driving While Intoxicated - Juvenile
  • Driving While Intoxicated - Misdemeanor
  • Driving While Intoxicated - On Beach
  • Driving While Intoxicated - Probated
  • Driving While Intoxicated - Under 21
  • Intoxication Assault
  • Intoxication Manslaughter
  • Intoxication Manslaughter with a motor vehicle
  • Open Container - Driver

Driving points are used as a factor for rating your auto insurance premium. Any time points are assessed then your insurance rates will be negatively affected.

Driving with an illegal firearm will not likely affect your insurance premium. The only instance where it could is if it is listed on your driving record, for example if you are charged with a Felony While Driving a Motor Vehicle because of the illegal firearm.

Please be careful and drive safely.
