While Georgia is not part of the Drivers License Compact (DLC) which Virginia is a part of GA still has agreements with other states to share ticket information and receive in information on its licensed drivers violations out of state.
We contacted the GA Department of Driver Services (DDS) which replied that yes points could be accessed to your Georgia driving record after a conviction of a Virginia traffic ticket since they will be informed by the VA courts or see it when they connect to the National Registry.
So if you are convicted of the Virginia traffic ticket it will go on your Georgia driving record and could have points assigned to it. Likely it will depend upon if the offense is points worthy in GA or not. If it is a violation that normally is assigned points in Georgia then it will most likely be assigned points even the offense occurred out of state.
The DDS also notes that a Georgia licensed driver shall have their license suspended for a conviction of serious offenses in Georgia or any other state. Check with the DDS site for a list of these violations.
