According to the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) representative we contacted, minor violations remain on your record for three (3) years based on the date the court reports to them. Some serious violations though, such as a DUI, may remain active it stays on your record for a longer period of time, up to 10 years in fact.
They CT DMV also mentioned that out of state violations are only reported to them if you fail to pay the ticket. So it would appear that out of state violations would not be placed on your Connecticut driver's history or assigned points if you properly take care of the citation.
