Missouri does not have a law on how many estimates one must get however many insurance companies, and self-insureds, will request 2 or 3 to make sure the first repair shop's estimate of repair costs is not unreasonably high or low.
In Missouri an insurance company can take the estimates you receive and revise them and pay on that amount as long as the revised estimate properly repairs your vehicle. You would need to have your body shop review the revised estimate that an insurance provider gives you. If they feel they cannot properly repair your vehicle based on the revised estimate, the repair facility would need to contact your adjuster.
Also in Missouri an insurance company can tell you where to have your repair work done, if the insurance company is willing to guarantee the work. You always have the option to go to the repair shop of your choice, but you will be responsible for the additional costs. Your insurance company may only be obligated to pay for the lowest estimate.
Since this is a self-insured company vehicle that you are dealing with and not a MO insurance company you should contact the Missouri Department of Insurance to find out your consumer rights regarding estimates and the repair work of your vehicle.
