According to the Florida Department of Transportation (DOT), HOV lanes in FL are identified by signs and diamond symbols on the pavement. The HOV lane is separated from the other general traffic lanes by a striped buffer zone. Vehicles carrying at least two people may enter and exit the HOV lane only at designated points.
The FL DOT notes that HOV (carpool) lanes are currently located on I-95 in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.
The Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court notes that upon payment of a civil infraction or an adjudication of guilt by the court on either an infraction or a criminal case, points will be assessed to your license. However in their list of points a conviction for a HOV Lane Violation the court lists 0 points thus it would appear you would not receive points on your FL driving record for this type of ticket.
This clerk of the court notes specifically that non-moving violations and HOV lane violations DO NOT carry points so if you were cited an convicted of a HOV offense it should not put points on your FL driving record.
Florida Statute 316.0741 gives more information on Florida High Occupancy Vehicle Lanes and the laws surrounding them. The FL Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (HSMV) can also give you information on moving violation and the state's point list.
