The procedure is different to change your coverages so that you drop the old car and replace it on your policy with the new car you purchased. It depends on the carrier you are through with CarInsurance.com. Policy changes can be done over the phone, online, or in a service location. You can simply log into your CarInsurance.com account and we will display the options available for your carrier.
Here the procedures for each of our current carriers:
Direct General Insurance Company - To make changes to your policy, please call 1-866-376-6463. They will help on the phone or send you to a service location.
Progressive - Log into your account and you can transfer coverage online or call their service center.
Esurance Insurance Company- Log into your account and you can transfer insurance online.
Unitrin Direct - Log into your account and you can transfer coverage online or call their service center.
Travelers - For questions or to make changes to your policy, call toll-free 1-800-842-5075

If you are able to make your change online on the Carinsurance.com site then once you log into your account, click on your auto insurance policy to view the summary of your policy information. Next just click on the "Make Changes to Vehicles" link, and then click on "Add Vehicle" to add a new vehicle or select the vehicle you want to delete and click "Remove Vehicle."
Finally click on "Continue" to confirm your changes. In some instances, online changes are unavailable or we need you to visit your nearest agency to make a policy change. We will display this requirement when you log in. You can contact us at 1-800-964-4849 if you have any further questions. |
