If I make a claim due to my windshield being cracked, is it probable that my premiums will go up?

It is really up to your state's laws and the rating system of your insurance company whether a claim for a cracked windshield will affect your rates.

A claim through the physical damages portion of your auto insurance policy for the repair or replacement of your windshield will be a part of your claim history and thus may affect future rates if your state laws allow and insurance company ratings system calls for it.

For example New York's Department of Insurance notes that an insurance company cannot surcharge you for various incidents including claims are made under Comprehensive or towing coverages. Your state's insurance regulator can tell you what your state's insurance laws are regarding making a Comprehensive claim for a cracked windshield and if an insurance can surcharge or raise your rates.

You can ask also inquire with your insurance agent to see if placing a claim for this cracked windshield will affect your rates in the future. If it will you can see if it still worth placing the claim with your insurer or just paying for the windshield repair yourself.
