In the state of Florida a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) allows one to operate straight trucks and buses 26,001 lbs or more. The following tests are required to obtain a FL Class B CDL:
- General Knowledge test
- Air Brakes if applicable
- Vision - 20/40 in each eye
- Hearing - must hear a whisperÂ
- Pre-Trip
- Basic Skills
- Applicable exams for desired endorsements
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (HSMV) notes that drivers under 21 years of age will be restricted to intrastate operation only.
The HSMV also states that customers applying for a commercial driver license should consider that the commercial driver license is a professional license with more testing requirements than other licenses.
