No, an injury from a hit and run accident would not be covered by your Collision or Comprehensive coverages. These coverages are for physical damages done to your vehicle and thus would cover damages a hit and run driver did to your car but they would not cover your injuries at all.
You would need coverages such as Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury, Medical Payment coverage or Personal Injury Protection (PIP) to cover you and your passengers for injuries that you sustained in a hit and run accident where the at-fault person is unknown due to them leaving the scene of the accident.
For the damages caused to your vehicle from the hit and run driver you would need to make a claim through your Collision coverage.
Collision coverage can cover damage to your car when your car hits, or is hit by, another vehicle, or other object. It does not matter who is at fault in the accident that damages your vehicle, you can make a claim under Collision however you will have a deductible to pay.
The other Physical Damage coverage of Comprehensive covers losses caused by missiles, falling objects, fire, theft or larceny, explosion, earthquake, windstorm, hail, water, flood, malicious mischief or vandalism, riot or civil commotion, being hit by a bird or animal, or breakage of glass. This optional auto insurance coverage pays to fix your vehicle less the deductible you choose.
You should read through your auto insurance policy to see if you have any coverages that may help you with your injuries, such as MedPay, PIP, etc. If not than you may want to add such coverages if you do not have personal health insurance that would cover the medical expenses resulting from injuries sustained in a car accident so that in the future if you are injured in an auto accident you would have these coverages for your injuries.
