Without knowing the terms of the insurance policy that the movie producer (or movie studio) put on your 50 year old vehicle we cannot tell you if it would cover a mechanical problem or not. If you have a copy of the insurance policy they placed on your vehicle than you should read through the terms to see if only collision, negligence by the driver, etc is covered or if mechanical issues are also covered by the million dollar policy.
If you also signed an agreement with the movie producer or production company of the movie regarding the use of your vehicle in the movie than read over this document as well and see if it mentions anything about mechanical breakdown of your vehicle due to its use and how this would be handled. Did you have any agreement that the vehicle should be returned to you in good working condition just as how you lent it out to be used in the movie? If so than even if their insurance policy does not cover the mechanical issue than you may have the right to pursue the movie company to repair your vehicle.
You may need to get a mechanic to check out your vehicle to find out what is wrong with it so that you can see if that issue is covered or not by the insurance policy on the vehicle. You can start by reading through the policy and next going on to contact the insurer if you are still unclear on what is and is not covered by the policy terms or if you are ready you can go ahead and try to make your claim. Knowing what the problem is with your vehicle, from the mechanic's report, may help you determine if it will be an insurance claim or if you will have to go after the movie company instead.
If your claim is denied and the movie company does not want to help you repair the car back to the condition the vehicle was in before they used it than you will likely need to contact a lawyer to see what your rights are and what your next move should be in order to get your 50 year old vehicle repaired properly.
