Yes, the state of North Carolina does have a nighttime driving curfew in place for drivers with certain license types.
With a level one license, which is the limited learner’s permit, there are hour restrictions for driving. During the first six months, a Level One permit authorizes you to drive between the hours of 5 a.m. and 9 p.m. while accompanied by your supervising driver. Six months from Level One issuance, you are eligible to drive anytime with your supervising driver.
With a Level Two Provisional license you may drive without supervision from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. and at any time when driving directly to or from work or any volunteer fire, rescue or EMS (emergency medical service), if you are a member.
Then with a Level Three Full Provisional License the restrictions on level one and level two concerning time of driving, supervision and passenger limitations do not apply.
So with the graduated driver's license (GDL) program in NC, if you have a Level 1 or Level 2 license than you have a nighttime driving curfew of 9 PM.
We are not aware of any other curfews that Greensboro has in place however you should check with your local police department to see if there is any local driving curfews in place. If you are under 18 you should also check to see if there are any teen curfews in place just for being out.
We are not aware of any teen curfews or driving curfews specific to Greensboro, NC but do know that in some North Carolina locals such as Charlotte, NC if you are under the age of 16, you need to be home by 11 p.m. during the week and by 12 midnight on weekends. If found out after curfew the teen as well as their parents can be cited and fined. As we mentioned your local police station should be able to tell you about any local and state curfews that you must abide to.
