According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) violations are not removed from your record; however, if someone requests your driver history, it will only appear if the violation occurred during the time frame of the driver record requested. PennDOT issues a 3-year, 10-year and certified record (entire history).
Points however do come off of your PA motor vehicle record (MVR). Three (3) points are removed from a driving record for every 12 consecutive months a person drives (from the date of the last violation) without a violation which results in points, license suspension or revocation. Once a driving record is reduced to zero and remains at zero points for 12 consecutive months, any further accumulation of points is treated as the first accumulation. For further information, review the Pennsylvania Point System Brochure which is on the PennDOT website.
