We are not currently aware of any insurance company that offers a discount based upon if you have stopped driving after dark specifically. Discounts for auto insurance are normally for items that can be proved such as the safety equipment on your vehicle, the theft deterrent (anti-theft) devices you may have, having multiple cars on your policy or having multiple lines with the insurer.
Other discounts that are offered that you can prove include if you have a child that has good grades (good student discount,) take a driver improvement course or have a good driving record (safe driver discount). It is hard to prove to an insurance company that you have stopped driving after dark and thus hard for them to offer a discount. A discount that may however apply is one for driving less miles per year.
If you used to drive a lot after dark and have stopped doing so than your annual mileage is probably lower and thus may allow your car insurance rates to be lower. Mileage of a vehicle is something that can be proven unlike if you drive only during the daytime.
The number of miles you drive daily may or may not be taken into account by your car insurance company but normally mileage in general it is a rating factor by many auto insurance companies. Typically it is the amount of miles driven per year that will make a difference to your auto insurance provider. Insurance companies' rating system differ, as do state laws, so the number of miles driven may be used as a rating factor by your insurance company or more likely they offer a discount if you drive less than a certain number of miles annually.
The fewer miles you drive in a year the less risk you are to get in an accident though so rates are typically lower if you drive fewer miles. There is not an insurance industry standard for when all insurance providers give you a discount for driving few miles or that they raise your rates once you drive more than a certain amount of miles per year. It varies from one insurance company to another as does how much this rating factor affects your overall rates. Many insurance companies though instead offer discounts to motorists who drive a lower than average number of miles a year.
So if your vehicle's yearly mileage is going to be lowered due to not driving at night you may be able to lower your car insurance rates as well. Because insurance companies vary on the amount of annual miles driven per year they discount on you will need to ask your insurance company about their specific rating rules regarding this issue. Also when you are shopping around for insurance you can ask if they discount rates for 10,000, 12,000 or even up to 15,000 miles per year.
