QuestionInsurance Question  I am a 20 year old female currently enrolled in adult driving education in Texas. I am an English Citizen about to start work in the United States in September 2005. I do not have a car as of yet, but I will be getting one in August. I wondered whether it was possible for me to get insurance to cover me as an individual without actually having a car - to help get my driver's license issued. Then I would like to extend this insurance when I purchase my car and know my zip code.

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

It is possible to purchase this type of an insurance policy, but be aware that you may want to wait until you own a car. Most coverage follows a vehicle and unless you are excluded you should be covered.

If you want a "non-owner" policy it will cover your liability if you don't own a car. This policy will help cover you even though you do not own a vehicle.
