QuestionInsurance Question  Do my car insurance rates increase if someone borrows my vehicle, is not on my insurance policy, and they receive a speeding ticket?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

The ticket should only apply to the driver's motor vehicle report. It should not apply to the motor vehicle report of the owner of the vehicle. As a result, your insurance premiums should not increase if someone else gets a speeding ticket while using your vehicle. (However, if the other driver was involved in an accident for which your insurance company had to pay a claim, at your policy's expiration, your insurance company might increase your insurance premiums or might not allow you to renew your policy through them.)
