QuestionInsurance Question  Is it standard practice for an insurance company to force their customers to send proof showing that their children do not live with them but have a license without an insurance policy or the children will be enrolled to the parents insurance policy automatically?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

Insurance companies can not force you to send proof. However, failing to provide requested information or documents may result in an increase in premium or cancellation/non-renewal. If residents are in the household and have access to the vehicle , there is potential risk the company may have to pay on there behalf and increases their exposure. By sending proof there is no question that they would not have access to the vehicle. If the information is not provided then the premium goes up in proportion to the increased risk.
