QuestionInsurance Question  I was charged with a DUI but when I went to the DMV 6 months later I still have no convction on file. But, it does say I ahave a JPA. If a JPA does not stand for a DUI, do I have to tell the insurance companies that I had a DUI?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

If you had the DUI it needs to be disclosed to the insurance company. If the violation does not show up on the motor vehicle report, most of the time it will not be rated on . Once it does show up, it will adjust the rate when you renew. Most violations are rated by companies within 3 or 5 years from the violation date.
