QuestionInsurance Question  I live in Pennsylvania and my side mirror was stolen off my car. Since this was an act of vandalism, do I still have to pay a deductible?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

Collision means the impact of your insured car with another object or upset of your insured car. Loss caused by missles, falling objects, fire, theft or larceny, explosion, earthquake, windstorm, hail, water, flood, malicious mischief or vandalism, riot or civil commotion, colliding with a bird or animal, or breakage of glass are other than collision losses (a.k.a. comprehensive). Your loss would be covered under your comprehensive coverage, since it was either vandalism or theft. Your insurance policy should pay for this damage less the deductible that you have chosen for this coverage.
