QuestionInsurance Question  I'm at school in North Carolina, but I'm from Indiana. I recently got a speeding ticket for going 44 in a 35 mph zone. In North Carolina, this means that it will not affect my license or my insurance, but in Indiana it would affect both. Since I'm in North Carolina, does it solely depend on their laws or am I also governed by Indiana laws since that's where my license was issued?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

In general, you will want to make sure you satisfy all of North Carolina's laws and all of Indiana's laws.

To possibly help you with North Carolina's laws, you may want to contact North Carolina's Department of Transportation. And, to possibly help you with Indiana's laws, you may want to contact Indiana's Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

If this violation does end up increasing your insurance rates, you can follow this link, get a quote, and have an auto insurance comparison.
