QuestionInsurance Question  I was pulled over for speeding a few days ago and the officer was kind enough to give me a warning due to my only having a graduated license...is a warning just that? a warning, or is it more? Does it appear on my records? Does my insurance go up?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

Warning citations don’t affect your driving record. They are just a warning.

They are usually kept within the department’s files. Your insurance company will not see warnings unless a citation is recorded on your record. We have heard that one state does include warnings on driving records (Missouri), but they are not used for rating by any of our insurance carriers.
