Question I am a international student in the state of NY. I am having a driving license from India (since 2000) and an international driving permit. I also got NYS driving permit last month. Will you be considering my international driving license for the auto insurance? I just bought a car and I never had a auto insurance.

You should be able to get insurance with your international driver license. Most insurance companies require that you obtain a State driver's license, so in your case a New York one, within 30 days. If you currently have a NYS learner's permit it appears you are already on your way to obtaining a driver's license which should appease the insurance company.
