QuestionInsurance Question  My car was stolen from my driveway and they stole my stereo system, rims, and my intake. In my policy it states under "Limits of liability" that "Property damage liability limit for each accident is the maximum WE will pay for ALL damages to property in one accident". It also states under Definition of terms that Property Damage "means damage to or destruction of tangible property including loss of its use". Shouldn't all that was stolen be replaced from my insurance? The Maximum amount is $10,000 per accident.

When a car is stolen that is covered under the comprehensive portion of an insurance policy. Comprehensive pays to fix your vehicle for losses results from incidents other than collision less the deductible you choose.

It appears your car was stolen but later recovered with the stereo, rims and intake manifold missing. If you purchased this type of comprehensive coverage for your vehicle you will have to pay the deductible before getting reimbursed for the items lost, if they are covered. You will need to speak with your insurance agent to see if these items are specifically covered under the comprehensive coverage, especially if they were aftermarket items and not factory items you might have had to add extra insurance to cover them.

The part of your policy that you seem to be quoting from is the property damage liability section. This type of coverage covers the amount of damage your car might do to someone else's property or to another vehicle.Liability covers thus other people's vehicles and property, not your own. To cover your vehicle you need coverage such as comprehensive and collision.
