How often a defensive driving or traffic schools can be taken to take a ticket or points off of your license varies depending on your state's laws. For instance, in Florida you can choose to attend traffic school only one time within a 12 month period and only 5 times total in your lifetime having a Florida license.
In Florida the 12 months are floating, thus not necessarily from January to December but from the time of the ticket i.e. November to October in your example. Other states such as Idaho only allow a traffic school to be taken once every 3 years if the reason is for points reduction.
The regulatory agency of your state, usually the department of motor vehicles, should have the state rules regarding how often you can take a driver's education course for the purpose of taking points or a moving violation off of your record so check with them.
