Georgia is not part of the Drivers License Compact but many states do report convictions for moving violations back to the GA Department of Motor Vehicles anyway. It has been said that Georgia does assess points for out of state citations but you should check with the GA DMV to find out if a Florida speeding ticket will go on your driving record and/or be assigned points.
If the FL offense will go on your GA driving record, you can see if Florida will allow you to take traffic school to reduce or remove the ticket. If not then perhaps see if the Georgia Department of Drivers Services (DDS) will allow you to take a defense driving course.
Typically in Georgia you can only take this course once every 5 years and according to the DDS you cannot take it for both insurance reduction and point reduction. So if the ticket does go on your record contact your insurance company to see if it will affect your rates.
