QuestionInsurance Question  My son, a licensed driver in South Carolina, received and paid a ticket, in SC for charge # 051-driving left of center. How many points are assessed for this violation?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

In South Carolina receiving a ticket for and being convicted of the moving violation of driving left of center (violation #051) results in the violation being placed on the motorist's driving record and being assessed points.

While driving left of center was not listed on the violation points list we found it is likely that the offense either falls under driving on wrong side of road or passing unlawfully. Either moving violation is assigned 4 points.

To find out for certain the amount of points that son received on his license for the ticket that he received and was convicted of and paid, check with the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.
