QuestionInsurance Question  How long does an inexperienced drivers rate apply to someone?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

Each insurance carrier is different in their rating factors; this includes their rates for young or inexperienced drivers. For some car insurance companies it is 3 years for others it can be 5 to 9 years that an insurance provider will term and rate someone as inexperienced.

Some carriers do not look at the date that the motorist was first licensed at all, but use their age as the only rating factor. When the age of the policyholder is the thing being looked at, typically a driver under the age of 25 is considered inexperienced.

If you have just recently obtained your driver's license you should shop around for auto insurance to find the best rates for your vehicle and level of experience behind the wheel of it.
