QuestionInsurance Question  Is my front windshield covered if I only carry PLPD on my vehicle?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

Public Liability Property Damage (PLPD) insurance coverage is what many refer to as the basic liability required by a state. Liability coverages do not cover your own vehicle but the property of those that you may be at-fault in damaging.

To have your front windshield covered by insurance you would need to have physical damage coverage. Comprehensive coverage is normally the type of coverage that covers a front windshield or glass breakage. In most states a deductible will apply but there are some states such as Florida where the deductible is waived by a state statute if you need to get your front windshield repaired or replaced.
