QuestionInsurance Question  Two days ago a car crashed through the association fence where I live, then crashed through my privacy fence and did some damage to my shed and then hit a tree in my yard. I live in a mobile home and if not for the tree the car would have been in my lap. Should I sue or just settle for hopefully what it would cost to get the shed replaced, the fence portion replaced, the hurricane strap off of my A.C. unit and various pieces of skirting and siding damaged from flying debris? I live in Florida.

It is normally recommended to try and negotiate and settle with the at-fault party's insurance company for your property damage before hiring a lawyer and suing.

The driver's property damage (PD) liability coverage should take care of your damages. If the driver was uninsured or the costs of the damages to your property are above the driver's PD limits then you may consider getting legal counsel or suing on your own.
