QuestionInsurance Question  I got a ticket in Ohio and I live in Pennsylvania. They are both members of the Drivers License Compact, but will PA assess points?

AnswerAuto Insurance Answer

You are correct that both Ohio and your home state of Pennsylvania are members of the Drivers License Compact (DLC) so the Ohio courts will inform PennDOT of your ticket you received and paid in Ohio.

Although reported to PennDOT, minor traffic offenses such as speeding, red light, stop sign, etc., will NOT appear on your driving record, unless you are a CDL holder. Also points will not be assessed to your PA driving record when convicted of a point related offense in a DLC member state.

So if your ticket from Ohio is considered minor it will not be placed on your Pennsylvania driving record or assigned points.
