Arizona and Texas are both members of the Drivers License Compact. This Compact requires member state to report back to the state in which a driver is licensed any conviction of traffic tickets. So the AZ Department of Transportation should be notified by the TX courts about this speeding ticket you received.
Chapter 6, Article 3 of Title 28 within the Transportation section of Arizona statutes, gives details on the DLC and Arizona's participation. It does not note however if points for out of state offenses will be assigned points or if the offense will be recorded onto your driving record.
The AZ DOT Motor Vehicle Division representative we spoke about this subject to said that they indeed would be informed of this out of state ticket and it would then go on your Arizona driving record. The AZ DMV representative also stated that points would be assessed. According to the AZ MVD points list it is 3 points for a speeding violation.
Since your Texas speeding conviction will go on your Arizona driving record it could affect your insurance when your insurance provider sees it on your motor vehicle record (MVR). Click here to shop around for low cost car insurance here with us.
