DRIVERS in Britain spend more on running their cars than their European neighbours, a survey reveals today. The average cost of running a family saloon here is Pounds 4,997 a year, Pounds 642 a year more than in Spain, Pounds 513 more than in France, Pounds 465 more than in Italy and Pounds 320 more than in Germany. In addition, new cars often cost up to Pounds 2,000 more here than in other European countries, according to the survey by Prudential Car Insurance.....
