MUAZAM of Bandar Sri Damansara is disappointed with Takaful Malaysia Bhd for failing to keep its promises.
Two years ago, he changed his car's insurer to Takaful Malaysia following a policy promotion that offered customers a 25 per cent discount.
"I signed up at its Plaza Sentral branch. But, I was told I could only enjoy the discount from the second year onwards," he says.
When MUAZAM went to the branch last August to renew his car insurance, he was shocked when told that he had to pay the full premium.
"The excuse given was that the company was conducting their internal audit on all policies. I was also told I would get the refund in November," he says.
In November, MUAZAM went to the branch and the staff gave the same excuse.
"When I insisted on the discount, the staff told me to complain to their headquarters in Kuala Lumpur," he says.
I went to their branch again in December and got the same response.
"I feel cheated and disappointed," he says.
He says Takaful Malaysia also did not send him any correspondence on the refund.
"I want to know when I will get my refund," he says.

"The delay is due to the upgrading and re-engineering of our information system and business processes," he says.
He says an announcement on the refund will be made soon.
He also asks MUAZAM to refer to his certificate which shows the terms and conditions of the Mudharabah policy.
