A Driver whose car insurance was unexpectedly cancelled was fined pounds10 after he was caught driving in Derby.
Prosecution costs of pounds35 and a pounds15 government surcharge were also ordered from Benjamin Thompson, 26, of Winchester Crescent, Chaddesden, who pleaded guilty.
Magistrates at Ilkeston heard yesterday that the insurance problem was highlighted by a police computer checking cars on May 2.
Jobless Thompson told the court: "My insurance company cancelled early."
Three penalty points were put on Thompson's driving licence.
