Massachusetts motorcycle riders and RVers now have new choices forinsuring their bikes and motor homes. Progressive started offering carinsurance in the state last May and a month later introduced boatinsurance. Now, it has added two new vehicle insurance products to themix: motorcycleinsurance and RVinsurance. The new coverages come just in time for the warm weather,when the estimated 150,000 bikers in the Bay State will start hittingthe road and families across the state will be packing their motor homesfor vacation.
Progressive motorcycle insurance is available for a wide range of biketypes including Harleys, sport bikes and scooters. Coverage is alsoavailable for off-road vehicles including golf carts, snowmobiles, andATVs.
Progressive's RV insurance is available for motor homes includingconventional (Class A), camper vans (Class B), and mini-motor homes(Class C).
Consumers can buy the newly available insurance products online atprogressive.com, by phone at 1-800-PROGRESSIVE, and through independentinsurance agents.
"Progressive's motorcycle and RV programs offer unique features thathaven't been available to Massachusetts residents in the past," said PatCallahan, Progressive's general manager in charge of motorcycle, RV andboat insurance. "For example, motorcycle riders can buy TripInterruption Coverage. It pays up to $500 for lodging, transportationand food if the bike has a mechanical breakdown more than 100 miles fromhome. The RV insurance includes Progressive's unique Pet InjuryCoverage, which covers dogs and cats hurt in car accidents."
