According to El-Khabar newspaper (November 13, 2006), Mr. Mohammed Haj Al-Sabea, Head of Insurance Department at the Algerian Finance Ministry, said that the value of the Algerian insurance market amounted to $600 million last year, a 17% rise compared with the previous year.
