A local family will have a special reason to celebrate this Thanksgivingwhen they receive a vehicle from 911 Collision Centers, a member of theNational Auto Body Council (NABC), GEICO and Casas Adobes RotaryFoundation.
The vehicle will be presented to the family on Tuesday, Nov. 25, atGEICO's Tucson office, 930 N. Finance Center Dr.
Recycled Rides, a national awareness project whereby members of the NABCrepair and donate recycled vehicles to families in need in theircommunities, is scheduled to make nearly 60 vehicle donations throughoutthe country the week of Thanksgiving. GEICO has provided five vehiclesas a sponsor of Recycled Rides this year.
Martha Furnas, assistant vice president of GEICO's Tucson office, said,"We're proud of the combined effort everyone has put forth and arethrilled to be able to donate this vehicle to a well-deserving family.We are all looking forward to hosting the donation ceremony at ouroffice."
"This has really been an excellent team effort," said Recycle Ridesnational co-chair Michael Quinn of 911 Collision Centers."GEICO donated the vehicle, which was a theft recovery with no damage,911 Collision touched it up, and the Casas Adobes Rotary Foundation willfill the car with gifts for the hard-working and very appreciativefamily. This is the second consecutive year that these threeorganizations have teamed up for this program and we hope theirpartnership continues."
Bob Thompson, of the Casas Adobes Rotary Foundation, said, "The time andeffort we have all put into preparing this vehicle for donation is nextto nothing when you think about the impact the result will make on thisfamily's quality of life. We're happy to be a part of this."
Quinn continued, "The family who will be receiving this vehicle islooking forward to having daily transportation that most of us take forgranted. We're even helping them with all the related details, includingregistration and insurance. It takes a lot of people working together topull this off."
