The fourth annual Bikers for Tykes & Troops Motorcycle Rally andConcerts, sponsored by GEICO Powersports, is doing more than justrolling through the KOA Kampground this year. The event, presented byLiberty Tax in Virginia Beach, Va., from April 17-19, is planning torock the area with band performances, a Guitar Hero tournament, Kane"Insane" Friesen freestyle stunt and safety shows, and a parade of bikesfor the USO Freedom Ride on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
Tickets for the rally are available through www.ticketmaster.com.Headlining the event on Friday is Butter with special guest Suburban KeyParty. Saturday will have Tuesday's Gone, Tailgate Down with specialguest Grant Austin Taylor, and Sunday the winner of the MAX-FM Battle ofthe Bands and special guest Bullwinkle will perform.
In addition to motorcycle exhibits and vendors, there will also be atattoo contest, USO Freedom Ride Chopper Giveaway, children's activitiesand a best bike contest. A full schedule for the three-day event can befound at www.bikersfortykesandtroops.org.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Children's Hospital of The King'sDaughters (CHKD) and the USO of Hampton Roads. CHKD serves the medicaland surgical needs of children throughout Hampton Roads, the EasternShore of Virginia, and northeastern North Carolina. The USO of HamptonRoads provides morale, welfare and recreation programs for uniformedpersonnel and their families in the Hampton Roads community.
